How is Syphilis Tested?

- VDRL / RPR (Screening Test) – Initial immune screening.
- TPHA / FTA-ABS (Confirmatory Test) – Confirms the infection.
- If infection is suspected, the test may be done along with other STD panels such as HIV, Gonorrhea, and Chlamydia.
Preparation Before the Test
- No need to fast or avoid food or drinks.
- Inform the doctor if you have had sores, rashes, or risky behaviors within the past 3 months.
- If you have previously been tested or treated, inform the doctor for accurate interpretation and follow-up.
