What is Ozone Therapy (EBOO PLUS Technique)? How the procedure works and how it differs from conventional Ozone Therapy

Ozone Therapy (EBOO PLUS Technique) is an extracorporeal blood oxygenation and ozonation procedure. A portion of the patient’s blood is circulated through a sterile, closed system, where oxygen and medical ozone are added at a low, physician-controlled dose before the blood is returned slowly through a vein. At LINNA Clinic the procedure is only considered after a doctor-led consultation and an individual assessment. This page explains how the procedure works, how a session is structured, and what your consultation covers. It is general information rather than medical advice: individual suitability is decided by a physician, individual responses vary, and no outcome is guaranteed.

Every program begins with a medical consultation and a comprehensive health assessment.

Certified standards

Licensed clinic, sterile protocols, and medical-grade equipment.

Personalised protocols

The number of sessions and treatment protocol are personalised according to your health condition, goals, and assessment results.

What is Ozone Therapy (EBOO PLUS Technique)?

Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation (EBOO PLUS Technique) circulates a portion of the patient’s blood through a sterile, closed external circuit, where it passes through a specialised filter and oxygen and medical ozone are added at a low, physician-controlled dose. The blood is then returned slowly through a vein.

Before any session, the doctor reviews your medical history, current health status and medications, together with laboratory results where appropriate, and decides whether the procedure is appropriate for you. Any supportive intravenous vitamins or nutrients are selected by the physician as part of an individualised plan.

Individual responses vary. Procedure parameters, session length and any supportive care are selected by the treating physician as part of an individualised wellness plan, and no outcome can be guaranteed.

Patients are encouraged to maintain healthy everyday habits — rest, nutrition, hydration and activity — alongside any plan agreed with the LINNA medical team.

Comparison of conventional Ozone Therapy and Ozone Therapy (EBOO PLUS Technique) at LINNA Clinic

How does Ozone Therapy (EBOO PLUS Technique) differ from conventional Ozone Therapy?

  • Ozone concentration: Conventional ozone therapy often drips ozone from a bag into a vein at a high concentration of around 60–80 micrograms/cc. The EBOO PLUS technique instead adds ozone continuously at a low, physician-controlled concentration of roughly 0.1–0.5 micrograms/cc, not exceeding 2 micrograms — the defining difference between the two approaches.
  • Research findings: Published research on continuous low-dose ozonation is limited and still developing, and findings are not conclusive. Your doctor can discuss the current evidence with you.
  • Real-time monitoring: The EBOO PLUS system includes a detector that monitors the condition of red blood cells during the procedure. If an abnormality is detected, the doctor can stop the procedure immediately. Conventional ozone therapy generally lacks this real-time monitoring.
  • Individual limitations: Suitability for people with blood-related conditions such as anaemia, thalassaemia or G6PD deficiency must be assessed individually by an experienced physician, and some individuals are not suitable candidates.

Individualised planning: The doctor carries out a detailed health assessment and, where appropriate, may recommend supportive vitamins or nutrients through a tailor-made IV drip as part of your individual plan.

What Are the Goals of an EBOO Wellness Program?

  • Individualised wellness planning: The programme is designed as part of an individualised wellness plan agreed with your doctor.
  • Physician-selected parameters: Ozone dose, session length and frequency are selected by the physician based on your clinical assessment.
  • General wellness support: It may be considered alongside your wider health goals, rest, nutrition and follow-up care.
  • Ongoing medical review: Progress is reviewed with the medical team and the plan adjusted where appropriate.
  • No guaranteed outcomes: Individual responses vary, and no disease prevention or treatment outcome is implied or guaranteed.
  • Consultation first: A medical consultation and suitability assessment are required before any treatment.

Procedure and Process of Ozone Therapy (EBOO PLUS Technique)

  • Extracorporeal circulation: A portion of the patient’s blood is drawn from a vein in the arm and circulated through a sterile filter and the oxygenation and ozonation circuit. The volume is decided by the physician for each individual.
  • Medical oxygen and ozone: A medical ozone generator converts pure oxygen (O₂) into ozone (O₃), which is added to the circuit at a low concentration that the doctor controls carefully and adjusts for each patient.
  • Return to the body: The blood is then returned through a vein in the other arm. The whole cycle runs in a closed, sterile system under continuous medical supervision until the session is complete.

How long does it take to do Ozone Therapy (EBOO PLUS Technique)?

A session usually takes about one hour. Most patients can resume their normal daily activities afterwards, and the doctor will give you individual advice based on your assessment.
